Help!

How do I order?

Send through an online enquiry or email. It is important to include the date and time of your event, the number of people you are catering for (and whether there will be other dessert options available or not), your flavours if you've decided, colour schemes/themes and any inspiration photos. I require at least 2 weeks notice for Deluxe cakes and anything custom. 

Pick Up & Deliveries

As I run my cake business from my home I have quite strict pick up times. This is so I can make sure I still get some family time while my kids are young and still want to hang out with me! 

 

Currently pick ups are limited to Wednesday after 4:00pm, Friday 1:00-2:30pm and Saturday 10:00-10:15am. Cakes for Sunday/Monday can be collected Saturday and stored in your fridge and will still be just as good on the day (with the exception of letter/number cakes which have exposed edges). 

If you realllllly need to pick up the cake outside these times please let me know and I will see if I am able to accommodate you. There will be an extra fee for this.

I may be able to deliver your order for you in the Nelson region. Delivery fees start at $30. Please note on your enquiry form if you require delivery and what area.

Cake Sizing

I strongly believe there is no such thing as too much cake! So on that note, I suggest choosing a size up if you're unsure and you can always freeze the leftovers (if there are any) for dessert another day.

Cake servings are based off 1x1 portion slices. Although serving portions are provided they are not guaranteed. Please refer to our “Cake Care” highlights on Instagram to see how to get the most portions out of your cakes.

What type of buttercream do you use for your cakes and cupcakes?

Because I've always found traditional American buttercream quite sweet, I prefer to use a Swiss meringue buttercream. This type of buttercream combines meringue with butter which reduces the sweetness. Technically it is a faux Swiss meringue as we use pasturised egg whites. Please be aware of this if you or your guests have an egg allergy.

Prices

Decorations such as custom toppers, chocolate drips, florals etc will incur extra charges.


While I understand that custom cakes are a luxury that not everyone can afford, I will always do my best to find an arrangement that can accommodate your budget. 

How do I transport  and care for my goods?

Cakes and cupcakes are best transported in a cool and flat area. The best spot is the footwell of the passenger seat with the air conditioning on. Please note cakes and cupcakes need to be transported while cold, but are best consumed at room temperature. This can take anywhere between 1-3 hours depending on size and the time of the year.

What are your payment/cancellation terms?

Your 50% nonrefundable deposit is considered a down payment and date reservation toward your event’s cakes/cucpakes. Your order is not confirmed and your date is still available to other customers until the deposit is paid. Final payment in full is due 2 weeks before pick up/delivery, unless otherwise noted. If your cake is ordered less than 2 weeks before the event, the total amount is due immediately and your order is not confirmed until payment is received. If you cancel your order, for any reason, less than 14 days out from pick up/delivery the entire 50% deposit will be forfeited. A refund will be issued for the balance if you have already paid in full (less a $10 admin fee). If you cancel less than 7 days out from pick up/delivery the entire value of the cake will be forfeited and no refund will be issued.


No refunds will be given for pre-order sales (eg monthly cupcake sales, Mother's Day etc).

Allergens

While our cakes and cupcakes may not be made with allergens we cannot guarantee that there may not be traces of allergens.

GF cakes and cupcakes are avilable for certain flavours on request, note not suitable for coeliacs.
